False Assertions About Sin. Part 4.

False Assertions About Sin. Part 4. Before we continue from where we stopped, let me build a little background of shocking biblical truths.  Have you ever wondered why the first epistle of John focused on addressing false assertions about sin? Have you ever wondered why in addressing them John always used the phrase "if we say" and not if they say? For example:  If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.  If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.  1 John 1:6, 8, 10. These false assertions were not the confession of unbelievers(those without), but the false profession of faith which those who have come to believe and were members of the church(those within the fold), suddenly began to embrace and to live by. As early as the days of the apostles of the early church, many had risen to pro

False Assertions About Sin Part 3.

"The Faith Of Christ Does Not Demand We Stop Sinning To Be Acceptable To God." The gospel of salvation in the name of Jesus, right from it's commencement at Pentecost had always emphasised repentance for the remission(pardon/forgiveness and freedom from sin). Acts 2:38 As the saviour could not obtain/secure the remission of sins for us without the shedding of his blood, we cannot receive the remission of sins in his name(secured/obtained for us in his name), without repentance. Matthew 26:28; Hebrews 9:22. Every true faith in the message of Jesus as the only saviour and as the only name by which men can be saved from their sins, goes with repentance of sins. Luke 24:47; Acts 3:19; 20:21. The meaning of the name 'Jesus' is he that saves from sins, the saviour of mankind.  Matthew 1:21; Acts 4:12. If we are yet to be saved from our sins, then we have not allowed  the name 'Jesus' to live up to it's true meaning in our lives.  What o

False Assertions About Sin. Part 2.

"Sin No Longer Has The Power/Potency To Separate Men From God." Such assertions spring from the inability to rightly divide the word of truth and distinguish between our spiritual position/placement in Christ as seated in the heavenly places, and our walk on earth unto conformity to his image. We must not confound our spiritual position/placement in the perfection attained in Christ, with our walk unto that perfection(conformity to his image and to the measure of the stature of his fullness). In Romans 8:38-39 Paul expressed his persuasion about the irreversibility of our spiritual position and placement in Christ; and it is such that nothing can separate us from the love of God in Christ. However, in an earlier verse of the same chapter, Paul dealing with the truth about our physical position and walk here on earth, says "Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye

False Assertions About Sin Part 1.

"The believer cannot sin before God", anchored on another assertion that "God doesn't see the believer outside Christ, but in Christ". When we merely postulate and express our reasoning, understanding and exegesis - which might seem very plausible and approximating to what the scripture actually says - as the final authority; we shut out the voice of scripture itself and embrace what we assume it says as the voice of truth.  Sadly, our preaching, teaching, commentary, exegesis and interpretation is often so loud and verbose that it crowds out the voice of scripture.  We speak and write volumes in whose echoes and pages, the voice and lines of truth in scripture, is hardly/faintly heard and read. The assertion that "before God, the believer can't sin", anchored on another assertion that God doesn't see the believer outside Christ but in Christ, has no scriptural bearing whatsoever.  There's absolutely no scripture that says

Discerning Subtle Deception, Twisted And Partial Truths.

We are saved by grace and not by works, but we will be judged and rewarded according to our works; for by grace we have been created in Christ Jesus unto good works which God ordained that we should walk in; thus we will be judged according to the measure/depth to which we yielded to the grace in Christ, to walk in the good works God ordained us to walk in.  2 Corinthians 5:10. We will be judged according to the measure/length to which we walked and traversed in the good works in Christ, which we're ordained to walk in. Do not be deceived by those who only talk about the finished works in Christ, while denying or despising the good works in Christ, which God ordained us to walk in. Ephesians 2:8-10 perfectly meets with Titus 3:4-5, 8 in the clear and unambiguous presentation of this truth, emphasising that we're not saved by works, while maintaining that we're called to walk in and maintain the good works in Christ. Ephesians 2:8-10 "For by grace a

Relegation & Corruption Of The Resurrection In Today's Christianity.

In keeping with the trend and rollercoaster of religious traditions, most christians remember the death and resurrection of Christ once in a year, and most preachers talk or teach about the death and resurrection of Christ once in a year. That which should characterise the meetings of christians as often as they gather in fellowship, is the remembrance of Christ in the breaking of bread; demonstrating his death and our oneness in Him, till he comes.  That encompasses his death, his resurrection, his ascension to glory, his High priestly ministry on the righthand of God as our intercessor and advocate with the Father and his appearing/descent from heaven to receive us(his church) to himself.  These realities about Christ and what God has wrought for us in Him, ought to be our occupation round the clock, if our affections are truly set on him.  1 Corinthians 11:23-26; Colossians 3:1-2. Sadly, the resurrection of Christ, which is central to the christian faith, is relegated

True Prophetic Ministry.

Image
True Prophetic Ministry. Prophetic ministry is a much larger call/responsibility than the predictive or diagnostic; the prophetic function goes far beyond prediction of mere events, happenings, dates and spiritual diagnosis. If all we do in the name of prophetic ministry, is prediction of events or diagnosis of people's circumstances and history, than we're just foretellers and prognosticators. Sadly, in a time of declension such as the days we live in, when spiritual discernment is so scarce amongst many of God's people; what is known and recognised as prophetic ministry is prediction of events and diagnosis of people's conditions. It is not a surprise to see multitudes thronging meetings where they expect to hear what they call 'prophecies' and to receive signs and wonders. Once someone starts making accurate predictions and diagnosis, he or she is assumed to be a prophet, and the gullible crowd gather to be ministered to, thus we largely cannot disc

The Absolute Importance & Indispensability Of Scriptures.

The Absolute Importance & Indispensability Of Scriptures. While commenting on a post i made last week, someone asked/wrote thus: "Which Bible did the Patriarchs; Abraham & Co read? There is a spirit in man, the inspiration of the Almighty gives them understanding." Here's My Response: In the old testament/covenant, God in relating to men, dwelt in thick darkness as veiled and not yet revealed to men. Even to Moses, whom God often spoke with face to face, God manifested as dwelling in thick darkness. "And the people stood afar off, and Moses drew near unto the thick darkness where God was" Exodus 20:21. In 1 Kings 8:12 the Lord said that he will dwell in thick darkness. Little wonder why despite all the manifestations of God to men in the old testament, the apostle John by the inspiration of the HolySpirit wrote thus: "No man has seen God at any time, the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him."

A Popularity That Opens The Broad Way To Destruction.

A Popularity That Opens The Broad Way. It begins with an ambition to be heard, a quest to become a voice to be reckoned with, a household name in the hall of fame. You begin to seek a large audience, you share every now and then to appeal to the taste of your readers and receive some praise/ accolade. Then the fame begins to spread, and you have thousands following & liking your posts, then you begin to say what they want to hear, to make them stay; you begin to say God told me to tell you, even when God didn't tell you anything. A ministry of the flesh is soon born, to minister to the needs and lusts of men; they begin to call you apostle, prophetess etc. yet your ministry is not about the knowledge of the Son of God, the goal is not in anyway to bring men to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; it is all about ministering to the needs and cares of this life, and the goal is to have testimonies abound to your fame. Your joy is seeing men and women gi

Powers Of The Age To Come.

The powers of the age to come is all about the millennial kingdom/the regeneration, when the son of man comes in his glory and power, then shall he sit on the throne of his glory judging the twelve tribes of Israel; however his reign will not be only over Israel but a universal reign over the nations, whom he will rule with a rod of iron; and the rebellious amongst them he will dash to pieces/shivers as the vessels of a potter. It is an age which is wholly put in subjection unto the Son of man and not the angelic hierarchies of principalities, powers, thrones and dominions. The saints and the disciples of Christ in this age(his church) will reign with him in the millenial; however, their reign will not be truncated at the end of the thousand years for the kingdom they receive is an everlasting kingdom which cannot be moved. Matthew 19:28; 1 Corinthians 6:2; Hebrews 1:13-14; 2:5-9; Psalm 110:1-7; Psalm 2:9; Revelation 2:26-27; 12:5; 19:15; Hebrews 12:28; Daniel 7:27. When the ang

When Intellectualism Intrudes Upon The Province Of Faith.

Image
Here is an example of when intellectualism and human reasoning intrudes upon the province of faith like a wind, set to overthrow the faith of many.  This is one of the reasons why we must grow up and not remain as children liable and prone to being tossed to and fro by every wind of doctine.  If you're impoverished in the knowledge of ALL SCRIPTURE(the whole counsel of God) given by the inspiration of God to make you complete and grounded/rooted in the faith of Christ, then you are prone to being tossed to and fro by the WIND OF EVERY DOCTRINE.  Entrance into heaven is not dependent on one's religion during his/her lifetime as the writer claims, but on one's faith in Christ as the Son of God and the only saviour/hope of a fallen human race. No measure of righteousness attained by a man in religion, can save him from damnation which is the fate of the fallen human race.  No amount of moral rectitude, uprightness/decency obtained and expressed by a man

April Fool's Day Hoax & The Bane of Foolish Jesting.

Image
April Fool's Day Hoax & The Bane of Foolish Jesting.  The April Fool's day Hoax reminds me of the story of the boy who cried wolf by Aesop; how a shepherd-boy, who watched a flock of sheep near a village, succeeded in making a fool of the villagers three times by crying out, "Wolf" and causing them to rush out to his rescue, when there was actually no wolf 🐺. Each time they came to his rescue, he laughed so hard at them, making them look so stupid. The wolf, however, truly came at last and those villagers had the last laugh.  Those who play pranks or fabricate a hoax to hoodwink people, so often succeed in making a fool of their victims; but in history, we have cases of pranks which went sour, and instead of the eruption of laughter, loud cries and tears echoed and  streamed down in pain and anguish of soul.  On 1st April 1976, BBC announced that on that day the gravity of earth would be reduced by a certain level and whoever jumped in the air would
