Discerning Subtle Deception, Twisted And Partial Truths.

We are saved by grace and not by works, but we will be judged and rewarded according to our works; for by grace we have been created in Christ Jesus unto good works which God ordained that we should walk in; thus we will be judged according to the measure/depth to which we yielded to the grace in Christ, to walk in the good works God ordained us to walk in.  2 Corinthians 5:10.

We will be judged according to the measure/length to which we walked and traversed in the good works in Christ, which we're ordained to walk in.

Do not be deceived by those who only talk about the finished works in Christ, while denying or despising the good works in Christ, which God ordained us to walk in.

Ephesians 2:8-10 perfectly meets with Titus 3:4-5, 8 in the clear and unambiguous presentation of this truth, emphasising that we're not saved by works, while maintaining that we're called to walk in and maintain the good works in Christ.

Ephesians 2:8-10 "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them."

Titus 3:4-5, 8. "But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost.
This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men."

We're to hold the truth of the finished works in Christ as well as the truth of the good works in him, we're created and  ordained to walk in/maintain.

The subtlety of satan's deception is perfectly deployed by partial truth; presenting one aspect of truth to the detriment/disregard of another.
This is what he did in the garden of Eden, and the woman fell for it. He was out to play down on the truth/certainty/seriousness of God's commandment to man, and this he succeeded in doing by lifting another truth to support his false exegesis/teaching.

God had said/warned thus: "Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die."

Satan showed up and said "Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil."

He countered the truth(what God said) by saying "you shall not surely die" but he served this lie in the wrap of another truth: "For God knows that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil."
A quick look at Genesis 3:22 shows us where God acknowledged this truth, that man has become as gods, knowing good and evil.

He played down on the first truth with a lie, while presenting/establishing the second.

It takes keen discernment and spiritual intelligence in the word of God, to detect this satanic ploy/strategy.

Would you be surprised if you were brought into the garden of Eden on the eve of the fall, only to see Eve jumping and shouting 'Hallelujah! Amen! Preach! Wow! Word! as the serpent gave a twisted exegesis of the word?  You ought not to be surprised because that's exactly what we do today, swallowing most of the things we hear and read, hook, line and sinker like prey fishes caught by fishermen.

If we don't have the words of Christ dwelling richly in us, if we're not rooted and grounded in the whole counsel of God/wholesome or sound words of truth, then partial truths/lies perfectly wrapped in and served on the plate of an appealing truth, will definitely excite us and get us shouting loud Amens and Hallelujah to that which God is utterly displeased with, which also has the potency to overthrow our faith unto the final apostasy.

I get so burdened when i see those i expect to know better, readily endorse and embrace deception with loud Amens. It makes me wonder why discernment in the word of God is so scarce amongst God's people today.
Why have we failed to take heed to the admonition of scriptures, to scrutinise/prove all things, to test every spirit teaching or speaking, and only take that which is good/proper/right?
1 Thessalonians 5:21; 1 John 4:1.

Why walk into a pharmacy to buy a medicine you will ingest for your heath, without being careful enough to check it's expiry date, when you know that expired drugs are potentially poisnous and can kill you?

If men are so cautious and careful in handling things which pose a threat to life, how much more should we be careful when exposed to errors and subtle mixtures of truth, which can lead to an unwitting defection from the faith of Christ and eternal damnation?
