It was appalling reading some brethren teaching the people of God to focus on scripture and forget/neglect prophecy, as though scripture itself teaches us to despise or keep closed ears to prophecy. Is it not awful to see how in trying to emphasise scripture, we have done so  to the denigration & outright denial of the place of prophecy in the new testament church? Discerning False Ministers/Messengers. Many in christendom today, cringe on hearing the word 'false'. Many shudder when they hear a popular preacher they admire being labelled as a 'false teacher"; they apparently do not know that a very thin line exists between what is true and false & that he who brings/bears a false witness, is himself false, especially if he does so consistently. In 1st Corinthians 15, scripture clearly and unambiguously shows us what constitutes false witnesses/ministers. 1st Corinthians 15:14-15 And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain. The Final Criterion: Love For His Appearing. The final test of the profession of our faith is love for the Lord's appearing. He that loves the Lord will love his appearing and long/look forward to it. He that loves not his appearing, does not love him no matter how much he or she professes love for the Lord. The mouth can verbosely worship and profess love for the Lord, while the heart has little or no place for him. The heart of man can be very deceitful; even our own hearts can deceive us. The heart can be very very subtle, covertly leading one on in vain worship. Jesus in the days of his flesh & walk on earth, severally made mention of his Father/our Father who is in heaven. See a few examples in Matthew 5:16, 45, 48. Different portions of scripture in the old testament, reveals that heaven is God's dwelling place - See Deuteronomy 26:15; 2nd Chronicles 30:27; 1st Kings 8:30, 39. In the gospels, which represent a transition/bridge between the old and new testaments, we hear the son of God himself, who is the mediator of the new covenant, saying that heaven is God's throne 👇🏼 "But I say unto you, Do not swear at all; neither by heaven, because it is  the  throne of God" - Matthew 5:34. The Father's House - The Place Of Our Eternal Inheritance (1).  Enemies Of The Cross Of Christ.  In Philippians 3:18-19 scripture speaks of the enemies of the cross of Christ.  Now, this is a very subtle spiritual status & condition because scripture in revealing this condition, does not classify it as 'enmity against Christ' but against 'the cross of Christ'.  They are not people estranged to the christian profession, faith & walk; the apostle even acknowledges their walk therein; they are in the field of christian profession and walk so closely holding unto what approximates to truth such that those on the path of truth are warned to beware of them.  Scripture goes on to expose that their walk is not in the steps of the cross.  It is a walk that so resembles and approximates to the true walk of the christian that it takes the HolySpirit to reveal/expose it; the apostle as inspired by the HolySpirit thus reveals the contrast & weeps knowing that they walk in steps that eventually lead to destruction/damnat...

Some say the church is not going to heaven citing Psalm 115:16..."the earth has God given to the sons of men"; Others vaguely say going to heaven is not the goal while some presumptuously say the church will go to heaven but will only spend 7 years and come back to eternally dwell on earth.  The fact there is so much confusion gathered around the eternal destiny of the church, her heavenly calling/priesthood & the heavenly sanctuary where Christ as a forerunner has gone in for her, is enough evidence that this truth is most vehemently being fought against by satan. The Truth Of Eternal Salvation & The Falsehood Of OSAS. The scriptural doctrine of eternal salvation is often misconstrued for what some call 'OSAS' (Once Saved Always Saved), which is a false and unscriptural doctrine. A very thin line exists between the two & it's a very subtle one; and it lies in the difference between trusting in salvation as a thing in itself received by the saved(a gift which cannot be lost), and trusting in the saviour himself as the author of eternal salvation. Spiritual fall could be so subtle that it can become the state of a believer for years, without being detected or discerned.  It takes revelation in the presence of the Lord to expose this very subtle and sorry spiritual state as we see in the book of Revelation 2:1-5, in the Lord's letter to the assembly in Ephesus. Ephesus was fervent in spirit & zealous in good works; they had great spiritual virtues like patience/endurance, they had spiritual strength and stamina such that the Lord commended them for having laboured and borne for his name's sake, without fainting or growing weary; yet spiritually they had fallen.
