Jesus Became Sin? Does Scripture Teach That Jesus Literally Became Sin?

Image
Often we hear some professing christians & preachers teach & boldly assert that Jesus became sin, that on the cross Jesus was made to become sin itself and when he died, sin died.  They strongly believe this is what scripture teaches in 2nd Corinthians 5:21 but is this true? The truth is Jesus never became sin and couldn't have become sin, scripture in 2nd Corinthians 5:21 says he was "made sin for us"...."poieō harmatia huper hēmōn" which in essence is made a "sin-offering" for us. In both Hebrew and Greek, the word for sin sometimes means "sin offering".  For example in Genesis 4:7 where God said to Cain: "If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him"; The word translated as "sin" in the common english version of this verse is "chaṭṭâ'âh" which is actually a sin offering and...

Sin Cannot Take Any Man To Hell But Unbelief?

Sin Cannot Take Any Man To Hell But Unbelief? You must have heard some so called "grace" preachers teaching that sin cannot take any man to hell but unbelief. Now this sounds very logical and scripturally sound, yet it takes gross biblical ignorance laced with spiritual conceit to make such a statement/assertion. The sting of death is sin(1st Corinthians 15:56) The wages of sin is death(Romans 6:23), and it is both the natural death which came into the world on account of sin and the second death which is eternal damnation in the lake of fire(Revelation 20:14). To assert that sin cannot take any man to hell is to assert that the sting of death is no longer sin and the wages of sin has ceased to be death. One would have to write his own bible to uphold such nonsense. If sin takes no one to hell, let us eat and drink, revel in iniquity & have fun with no restraint, for to morrow we die.  The apostolic rebuke of scripture to such falsehood & disposition of lasciviousness...

Once Saved Always Saved?

Can One Who Has Escaped The Pollutions Of The World Through The Knowledge Of The Lord & Saviour Jesus, Later Get Entangled In It? None who has thoroughly and holistically studied the subject of salvation in scripture, would carelessly or flippantly assert once saved always saved. In the second epistle of Peter the word escape or escaped(apopheugō) is used thrice in a sense that denotes salvation. 1.) 2nd Peter 1:4 "through which he has given to us the greatest and precious promises, that through these ye may become partakers of the divine nature, having ESCAPED the corruption that is in the world through lust." 2.) 2nd Peter 2:18 For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean ESCAPED from them who live in error.  3.) 2nd Peter 2:20 For if after they have ESCAPED the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled the...
