Discerning False Ministers/Messengers.
Discerning False Ministers/Messengers.
Many in christendom today, cringe on hearing the word 'false'.
Many shudder when they hear a popular preacher they admire being labelled as a 'false teacher"; they apparently do not know that a very thin line exists between what is true and false & that he who brings/bears a false witness, is himself false, especially if he does so consistently.
In 1st Corinthians 15, scripture clearly and unambiguously shows us what constitutes false witnesses/ministers.
1st Corinthians 15:14-15
And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain. Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead rise not.
✍ Paul says if they witness or testify that God raised Christ when no such thing happened, then they are found 'false witnesses'.
A false testimony/witness constitutes it's bearers false witnesses/ministers.
It's a very thin line such that many who started well do not even know when they cross the line into bearing a false witness.
It is the message that makes the messenger, without the message there is no messenger for the messenger is simply one who bears/brings the message.
If the message is false, the messenger being a bearer/bringer of a false message is thus a false messenger.
The character of the message he bears determines what type of messenger he is, whether true or false.
A false witness/testimony of Christ constitutes false ministers of Christ and breeds false christians/believers.
