New Year's Eve/Cross Over Night.

New Year's Eve/Cross Over Night.  The Cross-over night religious roller-coaster has gathered much momentum once again: Cross-over, suffering over, lack over, poverty over, pain over, sorrow over, sickness over, death over with thunderous roof-shaking 'Amens' from year to year.  Christ surely wouldn't have to come again if we can have a world with all these things over.  The new year eve/crossover services, come with superstition and religious fantasy, as the people are told by most of the preachers that what they do on that night, will determine what their entire new year will be like.  The people become so gullible as they are poised and primed, to do whatever they are told to do, in their hopes that the new year will be an elixir of sorts; an end to all their problems and challenges.  It is thus not a surprise to see the crossover services, branded with themes like "crossover to take over", "crossover night of storms over, pain over, sorrows over, fail...

Is He Really The Reason For The Season?

Is He Really The Reason For The Season?  If there should be a crime-free, evil-free, death-free, tragedy-free, sorrow-free day, it should be Christmas day, sadly there is no such day upon the earth, not even a single second free of evil in this dark/ sin-laden world.  Many say Christ is the reason for the season, but let's pause and ask ourselves is he really the reason for the season? A season fraught with increase in evil & all sorts of moral vices, as men are most desperate to make gains & lay hands on enough cash to spend on excesses of revelling in debauchery. Could such be worthy of the Holy One as to say He's the reason for the season?  Will you cheat, falsify figures, sell goods/services at exorbitant prices/costs, kill, maim, engage in wild parties, orgies & lewd dancing etc. to celebrate Christ?  Is Christ the reason you did all that? Can you stand before God and say you did all of that because Christ is the reason for the season?  It's an ...

The Blessedness Of The Meek & Weak.

The Blessedness Of The Meek & Weak. Meekness is unobtrusive, self-effacing & not self-assertive. It is a virtue that is often taken as weakness but it is not weakness in the sense of absence of power/want of strength but strength/power under restraint; strength/power put under/under control. This makes a meek man who may seem/appear weak, even stronger than he who goes about expressing power and showing strength without restraint/control. In the scriptures of truth we learn that true power with God is known in the place of meekness & weakness.  The power and strength of God is revealed in it's perfection, where the human vessel is weak, under & utterly abandoned to the grace and might of God - 2nd Corinthians 12:9-10. In Revelation 3:8 we see how saints in Philadelphia, who are of small strength(weak in the authority/power of their own will), kept the word of the Lord's patience & did not deny his name. Of course in being weak in themselves, they absolutel...

Guarding Against The Tendency & Doctrine Contrary To The Heavenly Calling/Hope.

Guarding Against The Tendency & Doctrine Contrary To The Heavenly Calling/Hope. The history of the church is one long story of the tendency to settle down on earth and to become conformed to this world, find acceptance & popularity here & eliminate the elements of conflict/enmity with the world and of pilgrimage in it. With every break of the light of revival, which has seldom shone/rayed in, the inclination & gravitation of hearts to this dark world, soon eclipses & instituitionalizes it, turning it into an earthly thing, an organisation, a new denomination or sect. From the high altitude of the first years as set before us in the book of Acts, the church in it's pristine and sublime state, began to decline, until the church publicly and generally became an earthly institution, a mere religious organisation even politically attached to the earth. The battle all through her history has been in this connection; whether the church would maintain or retrieve...

Blasphemy: You Need Resources To Lift The Name Of Jesus.

Recently i came across a video message of one Joshua Selman, and i was sore grieved & peeved, seeing him teach outright blasphemy with much gusto, to the delight of his gullible hearers.  He said: "You need economic empowerment to raise the name of Jesus. The name of Jesus is very heavy, you need resources to lift it up". To start with, in lifting and exalting the name of Jesus; giving him a name above every name, what material resources did God use to do that? Did God have to lavish his church with so much resources and make the apostles so rich materially in order to lift the name of Jesus? It's an insult & blasphemy to say the name of Jesus needs material resources/riches to be lifted up. When in John 12:32-33, Jesus himself said if i be lifted up from the earth i will draw all men to me, was he not referring to his cross (his suffering, death, shame & reproach)? As poor and unlearned fishermen, the apostles of Jesus were lifting the name of Jesus everywher...

Where Denominationalism Thrives Beyond The Four Walls Of Denominations.

The Spirit Of Denominationalism Beyond The Four Walls Of Denominations.  The spirit of schism & denominationalism is so subtle that it can be found thriving so strongly even in the midst of those who have broken out of the four walls of denominations. There are many today who deem themselves to be reformers and have left the four walls of denominations, yet they are caught up with the "isms" identified with doctrinal divides...calvinism, arminianism, cessationism, continuationism etc. How in the world would a christian consider himself to be a calvinist or arminianist, a cessationist or a continuationist, except it be that something other than Christ and being identified as Christ's(belonging to Christ) has become the obsession? When a doctrine which should lead to Christ/reveal Christ falls short of that in the hands of men and becomes something in itself...a movement, an affiliation, a religious/doctrinal sect/camp of all who embrace it, and even a foundation on whi...

The Ecstasy Of "Pentecostal" Papacy Coasting To Apostasy.

The Ecstasy Of "Pentecostal" Papacy Coasting To Apostasy. The autocratic ecstacy of papacy in catholicism, which the protestant movement once stood against, has now pervaded the entire sphere of denominationalism especially the so called Pentecostal denomination/movement; with men and women becoming heads of churches and so called 'spiritual' papas and mamas...thus the making of a religious monster of many heads, speaking perverse & diverse things/languages; discordant voices of confusion with the mystery of iniquity working in the midst, and drawing out from the lines of the past, all the elements of History-Babel leading to Mystery-Babel. Paving the way of apostasy, deceiving and leavening until the whole lump is leavened and the peak is reached at Mystery Babylon; the harlot bride church given over to strong delusion, and destined for ruin & damnation at the manifestation of the son of perdition.  The prophetic voice and warning of separation in this time ...

THE SONS OF ISSACHAR: THE 'REBELS' OF THE PRESENT-DAY CHURCH SYSTEM & THE DIRE NEED FOR TRUE SPIRITUAL DISCERNMENT.

THE SONS OF ISSACHAR: THE 'REBELS' OF THE PRESENT-DAY CHURCH SYSTEM & THE DIRE NEED FOR TRUE SPIRITUAL DISCERNMENT. In 1st Chronicles 12:32 scripture speaks of the sons of Issachar, men who had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do.  This is a scripture most of us are familiar with as it is loved and often quoted by preachers, but have we ever cared to keenly study and see/know the context in which these sons of Issachar were spoken of as men who had understanding of the times? If we go back a bit to verses 22 and read down to 32 we can glean from scriptures, a better understanding of the context and what the Spirit is saying in these inspired words of scripture. 22-32  "For at that time day by day there came to David to help him, until it was a great host, like the host of God. And these are the numbers of the bands that were ready armed to the war, and came to David to Hebron, to turn the kingdom of Saul to him, according to the word of the LORD...

The Absolute Deity Of Christ (Part 1)

The Absolute Deity Of Christ (Part 1) For one who is in possession of the New Testament, there is scarcely a need to quote a text to prove the absolute deity of Christ.  It is only human will that can fail to find it there; though it would be another thing entirely to say that there are no difficulties in the comprehension of it. Of course there are difficulties! That a babe born in Bethlehem, growing in wisdom and stature in the carpenter’s house in Nazareth should be at the same time the God of all men, this is a difficulty which no one thinks of denying.  The Old Testament states it, and draws attention to it twice, in words that were written long before the day of Christ: The prophet in Isaiah 9:6 says "Unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given, and the government shall be upon His shoulder: and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, the Mighty God, the Father of eternity, the Prince of peace." Again, another prophet in Micah 5:2 says "But thou, Bethleh...

True Spiritual Authority & Leadership.

True Spiritual Authority & Leadership.  True spiritual leadership is a selfless, transparent & exemplary leadership which exemplifies & models following the Lord, turning men into disciples/followers of the Lord. The passion & obsession of every true spiritual leadership is to see that men follow the Lord.  In 1st Corinthians 11:1 we read the apostle Paul say "Follow me, as i follow Christ"; In other words, follow me, as i model & exemplify following the Lord to you. If i do not model & exemplify following the Lord, if i do not show you how to follow the Lord, then you have no business following me. This is the apostle who had earlier rebuked this same assembly in Corinth, exposing their carnality in walking/ordering themselves after men, while asserting membership/belonging to men as though they had been bought with a price by men and not the Lord - 1st Corinthians 3:1-4. In Acts 20:28, 30 we see this same apostle warning against spiritual leader...

Self Denial: Basic Truth Of Christian Discipleship.

Self Denial: Basic Truth Of Christian Discipleship. The most subtle enemy of the believer is Self and many professing believers today are ill-disposed to the basic truth of christian discipleship which deals with that enemy and that is "deny yourself, take up your cross and follow Christ".  It is a very difficult thing to deny Self especially in a day in christendom when much of the message focuses on Self...self discovery, self development, self improvement, self confidence, self worth, self esteem etc. as good as all these may sound we may ask: where is the place of the cross of Christ in all these things?  Where are the disciples who are denying themselves, taking up their cross to follow the Lord daily & not taking up a self made & self-oriented cross(burden/responsibility) to follow their spiritual ambition, pursuit of purpose or to follow men who will empower them in the pursuit of their ambition? The Government Of The Spirit vs Self Government.  Self discov...

The Hope Of Heaven. The Calling, Inheritance & Destiny Of The Church(Part 2).

(Part 2).  We're still considering the solemn times in present day christendom whereby men with an open bible, are boldly and unashamedly teaching rebellion against the heavenly hope, calling, inheritance and citizenship/homeland of the believer in Christ.   The delusion of dominionists(those who hold unto the teaching that the church is called to dominate and take over this world and it's systems), stems from a lack of understanding of the heavenly calling of the church: they are confused about the eternal, heavenly inheritance/birthright and citizenship of the church.   As earlier stated in the first part of this meditation, some teach that we are not saved to go to heaven yet scripture clearly says we're born again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fades not away, reserved in heaven for us - 1st Peter 1:3-4. Now let's pause for a while and focus on the implicat...

The Hope Of Heaven. The Calling, Inheritance & Destiny Of The Church(Part 1)

The Hope Of Heaven. The Calling, Inheritance & Destiny Of The Church (Part 1).  Our calling is a heavenly calling -Hebrews 3:1. We are born again unto an eternal inheritance reserved for us in heaven(heavenly inheritance) - 1st Peter 1:3-4. There is a hope laid up for us in heaven - Colossians 1:3-5 We have a better and an enduring substance in heaven & this is the confidence of saints which has a great recompense of eternal reward; a confidence which those who cast away, draw back unto perdition - Hebrews 10:32-39. We are destined to take up & bear for all eternity, the image of the heavenly man(the last Adam); for we are bound to transit from bearing the image of the earthly(earthly body) to bearing the image of the heavenly(heavenly body). - 1st Corinthians 15:45-53. The house/bodily tabernacle we have of God is not made with hands but eternal in heaven. - 2nd Corinthians 5:1-4. There is a heavenly country/homeland and city which God has prepared for us...

God's Order Vs Man's Order In The Church.

God's Order Vs Man's Order In The Church.  God's Order In The Church. A.) God has appointed Christ as head over all things to the church. Christ is thus the head of the church in all things & over all things, and He is particularly spoken of as "the head of every man" - Ephesians 1:22; 1st Corinthians 11:3. B.) The man is the head of the woman. In the church/assembly life, she is presented in all things, even in prayer & expression of spiritual gifts, as under the man & this is consistent with God's order in the family, such that a bishop who cannot maintain God's order/rule in the family cannot provide leadership in the church of God. - 1st Corinthians 11:3; 1st Timothy 3:2-5. C.) The ministers(apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers) belong to the body, the church, for they are gifts given to the body by Christ(the head of the body). - Ephesians 4:10-13; 1st Corinthians 3:21-22. D.) The body/church/assembly belongs to Christ. - ...

Altars Of Strange Fire. Where The Fire Of The HolySpirit Is Grossly Abused.

Gradually 'fire' is replacing the name of Jesus on the lips of many professing ones when they pray.  It has replaced the simplicity of  faith in the name of Jesus with vociferous, repetitive shouts/chants of fire like fire! fire! fire-ya-ya-ya-ya!’ They cast out demons by fire, destroy their perceived enemies by fire, receive whatever they desire/want from God by fire & not by faith in Jesus. I wonder what fire they're invoking...strange fire it must be for scripture teaches us to cast out devils in the name of Jesus, to heal the sick, open blind eyes, cleanse lepers all in the name of Jesus and not by any so called fire. The apostles & disciples of the Lord never invoked or called down fire in prayer against ugly situations or perceived enemies. The only time they tried doing such, Jesus sternly rebuked them saying: "Ye know not what manner of Spirit ye are of" Luke 9:55.  Invoking/shouting fire against perceived enemies/problems in prayer, does not refle...

Where The Gospel Of Christ Is Veiled/Hid Till This Day.

Where The Gospel Of Christ Is Veiled/Hid Till This Day. "For Moses of old time had in every city them that preach him, being read in the synagogues every sabbath day." Acts 15:21. "But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart. Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away." 2nd Corinthians 3:15-16. "But if our gospel is hid, it is hid to them who are lost: In whom the god of this world has blinded the minds of them who do not believe, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus as Lord; and we ourselves as only but your servants for Jesus' sake." 2nd Corinthians 4:3-5. *Mark the following words: "Moses of old time had in every city them that preach him.." "Even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart." "For we preach not ourselves, b...

The Fight Of Faith.

The battle we're in as believers is clearly defined in the scriptures of truth, and it is a fight of faith...."the good fight of faith"(1 Timothy 6:12). Faith is all we have as believers to relate with God, without faith it is impossible to walk with God, without faith it is impossible to please God. When satan desired to have Peter to sift him as wheat, Jesus said to Peter: "I have prayed for you, that your faith fail not". The greatest concern of the Lord in praying for Peter was that his faith fail not. He didn't pray for Peter not to fail but that his faith fail not, why? because faith is the only resource, all that Peter would have/need to connect, relate with God & draw from God, even when everyother thing fails.  Peter indeed failed woefully but his faith did not fail, and thus he pulled through that sifting experience. As weak & frail as we are, we can fail & fall apart in ourselves; we can experience & find in ourselves the utte...

But Her Current Is Still Her Company (Message To A Woman Loved By Her Lord).

In a vision, it was evening time and night was fast approaching so i resolved in my heart to get home before dark. On my way home, messages started coming, flowing like streams from a river.  They were messages for a sister i know, and i called her to read the messages i sent her but she would rather have me read them out to her.  It was as though i read from the psalms, a lot of beautiful lines of what the Lord wants to do with her, however it ended with "But her current is still her company". I couldn't remember any of those beautiful lines for the emphasis was on this: "But her current is still her company". I woke up and pondered on those words; then came the understanding from the awareness i had in the vision, that her current is her present; her present situation and state/circumstances, her present place of habitation, livelihood and activities upon the earth.  She is in fellowship and companionship with her current/present state/location, and that is a ...

Can A Man Be Your Destiny Helper?

Who Is Your Destiny Helper? I often hear people talk about destiny helper. This is one of such acronyms that has never resonated with my spirit & i can't remember ever uttering it. Can a man be your destiny helper? I think the first question should be what is your destiny as a believer in Christ, what is the destiny of the believer in Christ? Ephesians 1:4-5 briefly captures that; however, we wouldn't delve into that in details now. In the true sense, there is no help in man. Psalm 146:3 says "Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help." The Psalmist praying to God in another Psalm, does not pray to God for destiny helpers but prays thus: "Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man." Psalm 60:11 Yet in another psalm, he said: "I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help ...

Don't Be Deceived By Anointing/Manifestation Of Power.

Do not be merely carried away by waves made by a man so anointed and who even functions with a strong presence of God in his teaching/prayer meetings. *Test the spirit, find out what he's ultimately after....is he after his own or after God, does he preach himself, seeking the recognition of men, seeking the submission, reverence & honour that comes from men; is he one who motivates men to seek God just for things, material prosperity, breakthrough etc. or is he one who is wholly after God, wholly after seeking God for who he is, wholly after bringing men to the knowledge of the Son of God, such that men might learn to hear, to fear & obey God, to submit themselves to God? In the fall of satan who was the covering cherub, we see the fearful possibility of one being so anointed and even operating/functioning in the very presence of God in the midst of the stones of fire, and yet wholly given over to self obsession & spiritual ambition, seeking his own, charting his own c...

True Impact In Ministry.

True Impact In Ministry. There is so much at the present, which looks like impact, result or success in ministry & which impresses the human mind with a sense of real/great accomplishment, but when the fire goes through it, it will be found as having no true spiritual value/substance as to abide/to be carried on as reward into eternity. Often we hear people talk about impact & results in christian service/ministry, yet what they're actually referring to as impact is in the realm of the seen(what eyes can see), the material, temporal & transient....like gigantic auditoriums/meeting places, large following/congregation, material prosperity, acquisition of much real estate, equipments, machinery & mercenaries for 'missionary work'.etc. That which registers in their minds as impact might seem spiritual under the garb & name of "the work of God" yet it is of no real spiritual/eternal value. In the long run the flesh profits nothing, though it may s...

Angels Can't Preach The Gospel?

Some assert that angels can't preach the gospel, thus they assume that what Paul said in Galatians 1:8 is only a hyperbole/exaggeration. Galatians 1:8  "But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed." How could what Paul said in Galatians 1:8 be taken as a hyperbole/exaggeration? Do we not see it's connection to what he wrote to the saints in Corinth? 2 Corinthians 11:3-4 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.  Who was the first being to preach/give an exegesis of the word of God?  Was it not the fallen cherub who manifested in the guise of a serpent in Eden? ...

Is There Anything Like Tongue/Language Of Angels?

Some argue that there is nothing like tongue/language of angels; that any tongue which is unintelligible to men & unfruitful to human understanding is gibberish & not in anyway an utterance of mysteries in the spirit. If in the old testament, the church in the wilderness(Israel) ate manna the food of angels, unknown to men, it obviously takes unbelief for one to doubt that there is any such thing as tongue/language of angels, unknown to men and for which mortal men would need to be endowed with a spiritual gift to be able to speak and interpret. The psalmist captures the experience of the children of Israel in eating manna in the wilderness thus:  Psalm 78:24-25 And had rained down manna upon them to eat, and had given them of the corn of heaven. Man did eat angels' food: he sent them meat to the full. The phrase translated as "angels' food" in the common version is "abbı̂yr lechem" in the Hebrew which means 'mighty/valiant bread' (of angels,...
