Where Many Of God's People Are Trapped.

Many of God's people come to the borders between the knowledge of the truth which makes free, and the land of their captivity to the religious systems/empires of men; they behold & marvel at the wonders of being free, they shout, become so emotional and often very dramatic on hearing the truth; but sadly the test of time passes over them, and they soon return to submit themselves again to the slave masters and to Pharaoh. They return repenting of the truth, as prodigal slaves, who had rebelled and left their masters.  They get back to fully and firmly embrace ignorance, celebrating and glorying in their slave masters. Their state thus becomes worse than it was before.  They're more at home with the cucumber and onion they've known in the land of captivity, than stepping out into the unknown, uncharted and uncultivated territories of the wilderness; where they would have to absolutely depend on God for their sustenance, and not on the organised systems/sectors of ...

#10yearschallenge And The Greater Challenge.

Image
Fellow Nigerian Youths, both at home and in diaspora, while you're busy doing the beautiful social media concept of 10 years challenge, and following what trends in the present; i want to call your attention to a greater challenge, and it's an 85 years challenge in the history of our nation, when youths like Ernest Ikoli, Kofo Abayomi, etc. Led the Nigerian Youth Movement, which  was the first Nigerian nationalist organization to promote politics outside of the capital; and the first organization to stress national unity over racial divisions.  It was also the first multi-ethnic organization in Nigeria and its programme was to foster political advancement of the country and enhance the socio-economic status of the Nigerian citizens. The movement acquired national outlook and became a strong national movement when  Nnamdi Azikiwe  and  H.O. Davies  returned to Nigeria in 1937 and 1938 respectively and consequently joined the movement. N.Y.M became ...

In A Time Of Fullness....What God Wants.

Image
From the very onset of the year, it's been very difficult to get my lips to utter, or my fingers to type the conventional 'happy new year' greeting; for the weight of the great burden and responsibility of what lies ahead; knowing that this timeline represents a very signficant shift from so much that has been, to things that must be(brought in) in a time of fullness. We have not come to the fullness of time yet, but we're surely in a time of fullness, a time when fullness is in view. A time of fullness is a time of visitation, when God visits to ensure that everything concerning what is his and which belongs to him, is wholly according to his mind and his order. What God wants becomes the supreme issue in a time of fullness and it is not inclusive of what we want but exclusive and peremptory. We will come to know the government of God, his sovereign majesty and prerogatives(exclusive rights) in enforcing his own counsel. It shall not be a year of this or that,...

Much Ado About Christmas Day.

Image
The commemoration of the birth of Christ on the 25th of December globally known as Christmas day, has been an issue of much theological and historical debate. Some theologians and historians argue that Christ was not born on the 25th of December, and some speak of the pagan origins of the yuletide. The bible does not speak of the exact birth date of Christ or of any of the apostles, but we do know by the scriptures that Christ became flesh and was born as a man on a certain day, and in relation to his being born, heaven greatly rejoiced, knowing the significance of his incarnation and birth in the great redemption plan. Luke 2:8-14. Also the angel of the Lord brought the message of Christ's birth to shepherds who watched their flocks by night; which message he called 'good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people'. Luke 2:10-11. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For u...

Beyond Shaking Tables.

Image
Beyond Shaking Tables. It is not reason neither is it the season that we should leave the word of God, and merely shake tables; But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word. We will not be encumbered with much serving and shaking of tables, and leave the place of sitting at the Lord's feet; that in itself, is a subtle distraction from the core and center, where every other service and ministry should flow from. It's time to unreservedly yield to the Spirit, and be laden with the Lord's burden in prayer and the ministry of the word, in travails and groanings of the Spirit; to birth the final & unprecedented latter rain revival/harvest. It's time to receive upon our spirits like never before, his yoke and burden for the nations; with deep travails and fervency in the Spirit, that will birth men and women who will not merely shake tables of religious and political merchandise, but will overthrow them and expel from the t...

The Deception Of Spiritual Activities And Manifestations.

Of what purpose is all our bible teaching conventions, prophetic meetings, prayer and fasting conferences and programs, when that one mark/sign of discipleship is no longer found amongst us?  These spiritual activities are utterly useless and deceptive if we are found wanting in love for one another; much more when even the basic brotherly kindness/feeling is lost, and there's no sense of brotherhood left in us.  This is the very sad situation today. There is so much of spritual activity and programs, with very little or nothing to show for it, in the moral character and conduct of love.  John 13:35 " By this shall all  men  know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another." Note: Disciples/servants of Christ are not known by media publicity; adorning all the media billboards in town with their images and upcoming events/programs, preaching on all the TV stations, or making the headlines on the front pages of the dailies.  They ar...

Transition Hours: How Nigeria Missed Her Time Of Visitation At The Centenary.

Had Jonathan succeeded in fulfilling the purpose/mandate for which God allowed him to come into office, he should have written a book titled "Nigeria's Transition Hours" and not "My Transition Hours". He was the chosen one to deliver a new Nigeria(a restructured Nigeria) as she clocked a centenary, but he dropped the prophetic mandate on him, to pursue an ambition to remain in office. His administration casually forwarded resolutions of the 2014 National Confab to the Senate just one week to the expiration of the Seventh National Assembly. It was not a mere coincidence that we had our seventh national assembly when the nation clocked 100. It was rather a prophetic clock and timing of immense significance for the nation; an hour so significant that if not discerned and taken advantage of, the clock will start ticking backwards/anticlockwise. The seventh assembly represented an end of an era in the history of the nation; the seventh assembly was to lay a foun...

The Peril Of Observing Lying Vanities And The Failure To Discern Times Of Visitation.

So often we go about observing the vanities that lie all around us in this fleeting world, and not just observing them but also vehemently pursuing after, to lay hold on uncertain/vain riches and treasures. So often we're caught up in this vain and futile pursuit, like we have no stake or place in the heavenly/eternal; we neglect/forsake our own mercy and the eternal riches wherewith God has blessed us in the heavenly places in Christ, and we go about as though we're destitutes and vagabonds like Cain, seeking a permanent site, a continuing city/lasting investment/treasures in a world, where nothing lasts, where nothing is certain/permanent.  The danger of observing lying vanities lies in it's ability to cripple the sensitivity of even the most pious of saints, making us spiritually undiscerning, insensitive, numb and blind to spiritual realities and verities.  In Luke 19:41-44, we see the sorry spiritual state of Jerusalem, the city of the most high God, ...

True Ministry/Work Of God.

True Ministry/Work Of God.  Sadly, what is called ministry/God's work today is 99% man's schedule/routine of activities, yet done in the name of the Lord. This is a very grievous thing to the Lord Jesus. Even in most places/organisations branded as 'church' or 'christian ministry', it is sadly a 100% as wholly set against anything that is of the Holy Spirit; to be moved or led of the HolySpirit is disorder/rebellion to them, for their order is in following their routine, their doctrine, their pattern and system as created and fashioned by their spiritual head(G.O), who assumes the place/position of Christ. True ministry is nothing short of or outside of being moved or borne by the HolyGhost, for it is only by the HolyGhost and in the energy/power of the HolyGhost, that true ministry can be done/accomplished. There is no ministry/work of the Lord outside the move of the Spirit. Whatever is done/accomplished as borne by the HolyGhost, is surely not the ...

The Breed Of Greed.

The plight of the needy is occasioned by the greedy; they gather and amass so much to themselves(stupendous wealth), that there is very little left for others to live on.  With all they have they're rarely satisfied, they still crave for more, they covet even the last penny in the pocket of the poor. In the corridors of religion, they hoodwink them, telling them to sow their way out of poverty; on the streets of commerce and the corporate world, they rob the poor and needy, by setting up corporate establishments and facilities which often render poor services, while making the poor pay dearly for using them. In the breed of greed, the wickedness of men reaches it's climax; as expressed in a few amassing so much to themselves, to the detriment and even destruction of many souls around them.   Where there is the greedy, there will always be the needy. The early church had none that lacked among them, no needy, simply because there was none greedy amongst them; non...

Where Christ Meets The Sinner & The Peril Of Meeting Another Jesus.

Image
In taking up humanity, Christ came into our space and world; the realm & entity of our frailty, futility, iniquity & vanity; yet he remained the holy one, harmless, undefiled & separate from sinners.  He didn't stop at just coming into our space and manifesting the godly/divine life as separate from the sinful life of the fallen race; he went further to meet us, and indeed it is in his death that he met us; dead in sins and trespasses, having no hope and without God in the world. Ephesians 2:1, 12. In all the wonders and marvels of his earthly walk and ministry, in all the miracles he did starting from turning water to wine in Cana of Galilee; if he had stopped at just having a great ministry on earth, without going to the cross, he wouldn't have met us at the very place/point of our utmost/dire need, which is to be saved from our sins.  If he had stopped at just having a great ministry upon the earth, he wouldn't have lived up to the very purpose of...

THE PROSPERITY DOCTRINE AND THE "MANIFESTION OF THE SONS OF GOD" BY PAUL RAPOZA

Few people know much of the history of these two doctrines much less realize that they were birthed from the same "womb" of heresy. The definition of heresy is that which divides and both the fruit of both doctrines elevated those preaching them to a status well and above that of the common "laity." In many respects they were an even deeper expression of "Nicoliatanism" (to rule over the common class) because they established a certain class system within the Body of Christ. The founders of the "Prosperity doctrine" and the "Manifest Sons of God doctrine" walked hand in hand often sharing the same platforms and doctrinal platforms. Both doctrines took an expression of "truth" from the scriptures and built upon it something that was not intended much less expressed in the full context of the scriptures. Both movements led their adherents to a level of subtle if not outright pride so much so that if one looks at thei...

What Next?

Image
What Next? What next? A question we often ask after every step taken, after we're done with a stage/phase of things, or after an event we spent time planning for, comes to an end. More often it's a burden in our hearts, our mouths are too heavy to express; an emptiness and void in our soul we often feel, and seek to fill up with something. It comes in endless cycles and timeless seasons. We ask what next? And not long after what next has come, we still find ourselves asking what next? So often we ask what next, and even after we are told what next, we still find ourselves asking what next? We're like weary fishers by a sea shore in a dark night, waiting for the waves to bring choice fishes on our shores. In frayed nerves as frail mortals, all we can utter is what next? Our expectation grows wave after wave, and the inquiry in our hearts to see our dreams fulfilled, never ends. With each phase of accomplishment and fulfilment, comes the burdensome "what next...

It Is A Cartel! By Solomon Ukpenevi

It is a cartel!  They meet and plan how to scam you. And they organise programs, invite themselves, prearrange how much to raise and the sharing formula. Sometimes they plan on what prophecies and prophetic actions to carry out to steer the people more for the scam. The host prophet will release certain information about rich  members who he feels are stingy to  the guest prophet.  And the deal is sealed when the guest begins to prophecy and stun the audience. And when you have been successfully scammed, you rise in the defence of your prophet. All hail Simon the sorcerer.

The Testimony Of Jesus (Part 2).

Relevance Of All Scriptures. 2 Timothy 3:15-17 "And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works." The relevance of all scripture as given by the inspiration of God, is in it's testimony of Jesus, as that which is able to make one wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.  All scripture is thus given by inspiration of God, and bears the testimony of Christ, to inspire the faith of Christ in the hearts of men and thus lead them to Christ. What about the historic and poetic books of scripture, like the chronicles and the psalms? Do they also testify of Christ? Luke 24:27 shows us Christ expounding unto the disciples he met enroute Emmaus...

The Testimony Of Jesus (Part 1).

Revelation 1:1-2 "The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John: Who bare record of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw." 19:10 "And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy." The testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy, right from Genesis to Revelation; starting with the very making of man(the first Adam), who was constituted in the image of God and as a figure of him that was to come; to God's own prophecy of the coming seed of the woman bruising the head of the serpent, the entire testimony of scriptures from Genesis to Revelation, is the testimony of Jesus, and speaks of him a...

Much Fuss About The Funke Funky Fables And Those Who Make Merchandise Of The Grace Of Christ.

Telling tales and fables is one of the marks of false ministrations, which do not establish people in the faith of Christ but lures them away from the truth. Scripture severally warns us against giving heed to fables; and one of such fables is called old wives fables(1 Timothy 4:7) A fable is simply a narrative intended to enforce myths or ideologies, as truth; any story told to excite wonder or put fear in the hearts of men. So often it is fictitious, false and cunningly devised. Concerning the true testimony of Jesus, Peter said we have not followed cunningly devised fables (2 Peter 1:16); then in the next chapter he went ahead to warn against false teachers, who will secretly bring in damnable heresies. Now, cunningly devised fables might not sound as grievous and terrible as damnable heresies, yet they are correlated, and are both trade marks of false ministers/teachers, who seek to make merchandise of the grace of Christ. It is pertinent to note that, fables are much more ...

The More Subtle Crisis Of The Hour.

There is a growing agitation and revolution against the corruption and perversion of the gospel of Christ by covetous preachers who peddle a polluted gospel, having turned the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ into a mere success key/kit for achieving one's ambitions and dreams in life. This polluted gospel has seen it's main proponents build great religious empires, and prosper/fare sumptuously in this world, while remaining so impoverished and destitute of the truth of the gospel. It is a gospel through which satan has subtly offered the world, it's wealth, glory and fame to preachers in exchange for true spiritual verities and the eternal hope. On the other hand, those riding in the current waves and tides, going against these gospel perverts and merchants are men of like passion, and not immune to embracing another side/facet of the hydra-headed/multi-faceted monster of corruption. We are not as many, which corrupt the word of God yet we are not immune from becoming on...

Prophetic Glimpse Of The Church In This Hour.

Image
There has been a growth/expansion of the 'church' unto men/the world, and not unto the Lord; A strange/abnormal growth to merge the church with different 'spiritual heads' of men and not the One Head, which is Christ.  A growth unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of the world, to bring the church into a perfect marriage/union with the world's glory, influence, prosperity/wealth and governmental power/authority. The Lord however, has arisen to stop the furtherance of this strange growth/expansion, to resist the proud and lofty ones highly revered by men, as the leaders & champions of this strange cause/movement. They shall proceed no further, for the Lord has risen against them to put clogs in the wheels of their progress, in leading many to drown in the sea of apostasy and perdition. The growth/expansion heaven stands for is to grow the church back, as unto the Lord, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; to make read...

When Captors Masquerade As Deliverers.

By Ninyo Omidiji.  A peasant who becomes wealthy through "ministry"/church planting or pastoring, and a peasant who turns wealthy through politics, are both birds of a feather. They are both parasites and leeches,  enlarging at the expense of the system they are supposed to help feed and build.  They both leave victims/casualties in their wake. And their victims have many things in common. They have been deceived,  but they do not know it. They are ignorant, but they parade themselves as informed. They have been sold a dummy.  They do not even know that they are victims.   Sadly,  it is easier to fool a people, than to convince them that they have been fooled. History has proven this time and time again. Wealth has never been the goal of doing ministry, not the ministry of the kingdom of God. Definitely not the gospel. Neither should you join politics to become rich,  but to serve. Anyone who becomes rich through politics i...

Vox Populi, Vox Dei (How True Is It?)

Image
Vox Populi, Vox Dei (How True Is It?) The popular saying, 'Vox Populi, Vox Dei' ( the voice of the people is the voice of God), is absolutely incorrect, non scriptural, and a devilish notion to deceive the masses.  This is a statement i have heard many times from my youth, and has been used by the devil to cunningly deceive people into believing that what is popular, generally accepted and preached by many, must be of God. From the earliest history of human/global civilisation, as captured in the book of Genesis 11, scriptures clearly show that the mind, will and voice of God, is not with the mass population. There we see how the whole world was of one language and one speech, yet their ambition, set goals and vision was contrary to God. Genesis 11:1-8 "And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech. And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there. And they said one to another, ...

The Bane Of Religious Systems And Sects.

To the children of Israel under the old covenant, they knew and called upon one God, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. To the church of Christ under the new covenant, we know and call upon one God, the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ; however, the denominations/'church' sects professing christianity, have their different gods they call upon, depending on the denomination/'church' you belong to...the god of this or that commission, the god of bishop this or that.  Truly if it be the church of bishop so and so, then it must also be the god of that bishop that is actually served & worshipped.  Romans 16:17-18 clearly reveals to us, that the actual god being served and worshipped in denominations(those who cause/maintain divisions in the body of Christ), is the belly and we are admonished to avoid such grounds of fellowship.  Romans 16:17-18 "Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine ...
