Who Owns The Church?

The severity of the judgment coming to the church in these last times will be chiefly along the lines of the question of the ownership of the church...Who Owns The Church?

In the name of the Lord Jesus, on behalf of the HolyGhost sent down and on behalf of God who bought the church with the blood of his own, who owns the church?

This is a question every minister or preacher calling on the name of Jesus & running what is called "church" or assembly today upon the earth, will have to answer in these last times.

Sadly there are many doing ministry today, preaching & praying in the name of Jesus, but they are far from walking in the consciousness & reality of the ownership & lordship of Jesus over his church/people.

Note: The church/assembly is the church of God which he bought with the blood of his own & not your church.

"Take heed therefore to yourselves, and to all the flock, wherein the Holy Spirit has set you as overseers, to shepherd the church of God, which he has purchased with the blood of his own." Acts 20:28.

Ministers who acknowledge this truth, in fear and trembling, take heed to themselves and to the flock of God.

They are the flock of God and not your flock, they are the Lord's posession and heritage and not your heritage/posession.

"The elders which are among you i exhort, as a fellow-elder and witness of the sufferings of Christ, who is also a partaker of the glory about to be revealed: shepherd the flock of God which is among you, exercising oversight, not by necessity, but willingly; not for base gain, but readily; not as lording it over your possessions, but being models for the flock. And when the chief shepherd is manifested ye shall receive the unfading crown of glory." 1st Peter 5:1-4.

The foundation and ground of every misrepresentation of God in leadership/rebellion against God's word is this...where men run the church as their own, lead the people as their people and the flock as belonging to them, yet in the name of the Lord.

This is a very grievous thing to the Lord.

It was the misrepresentation of God/rebellion against God's word in leadership that cost Moses and Aaron entry into the promised land.

At Meribah, Moses and Aaron dealt with the people of God as though they are their own people; Without taking heed to himself & to the word of the Lord, Moses spoke unadvisedly with his lips, calling the people of God rebels as he asked them thus: "Hear now, ye rebels! Must we fetch you water out of this rock?" Numbers 20:7-12; 27:14.

Those who will escape the coming judgment are those who do not walk in this rebellious spirit of trying to possess the people of God and make them their own people, whom they can command, control and curse at will.

Such is rebellion which is witchcraft and the Lord will not spare any leadership bewitching his people in the name of the work of God - 1st Samuel 15:23; Galatians 3:1.

Many have gone on in rebellion to the Lord for years, usurping his authority and ownership as the one & only head of the body(the church), yet doing ministry/church in his name, and prospering/faring sumptuously in the way of error; but the owner of the church is coming, for until judgment returns, and truth is brought back to it's place nothing will be recovered.

These are very solemn times which call for utmost sobriety, spiritual watchfulness(being of a sound mind) unto prayer, as these prophetic scriptures in Peter's epistle points out.

1st Peter 4:7, 17-18.

"But the end of all things is drawn nigh: be sober therefore, and be watchful unto prayers.

For the time of the judgment beginning from the house of God is come ; but if first from us, what shall be the end of those who obey not the glad tidings of God? And if the righteous is with difficulty saved, where shall the ungodly man and the sinner appear?

Few days ago while meditating on these words concerning the judgment starting from the house of God & the big question concerning the ownership of the church, i was reminded of Mr. Bigg's which was Nigeria’s premier fast food restaurant; was reminded of how it was a household name in the fast food industry & a business which lived up to it's name cos it was really big, with branches all over the nation but today it has gone down & is no longer the ubiquitous & imperious brand we used to know. This is what will happen to many big/popular denominations & 'church' brands today, they will fizzle out & be no more, as they have become nothing but mere business/entertainment centres with no relevance to heaven's program.

May we be a people who tremble at the Word of the Lord, to give heed to what the Spirit is saying to the churches/assemblies. The HolySpirit is very particular about this, that we do not harden our hearts when we hear his voice(the voice of the Lord); thus it is not just about hearing the voice/word of God but our response to his voice/word(what we do with what we heard). Hebrews 3:7-8; Isaiah 66:2.

Israel had a long history of hearing the words of God, warning them of an impending judgment but they took it for granted until finally the judgment came and their house was left unto them desolate with spiritual blindness befalling a greater part of the nation, and just a handful of remnants among them receiving the gospel of grace.

Luke 13:34-35; Romans 11:7-10, 21-25.
