The Appearing Of Jesus Christ(salvation ready to be revealed in the last time) Part 2.

Still on the issue of the significance of the revelation/appearing of Jesus Christ to the church, Hebrews 9:28 clearly states that his appearing again unto those who look for him, is unto salvation.

"Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation."

This is of course the salvation ready to be revealed in the last time which goes with the revelation/appearing of the Lord Jesus according to 1st Peter 1:5 & 13

5  Who are kept guarded by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

13  Wherefore, having girded up the loins of your mind, be sober and hope with perfect stedfastness in the grace which will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

Verse 9 calls it the salvation of our soul which is the end, conclusion or consummation of our faith.👇🏼

9  Receiving the end of your faith, the salvation of your souls.

The beginning of our faith is the salvation of our spirit(the quickening of our spirit from being dead in sins to newness of life by the washing of regeneration and renewing of the HolySpirit) - Ephesians 2:5; Romans 6:4 & Titus 3:5.

The end/conclusion of our faith is the salvation of our soul which goes with the redemption of our vile, mortal bodies. This is the salvation ready to be revealed in the last time and which can only happen at the appearing of Jesus Christ - Romans 8:23-24; Philippians 3:20-21 & Hebrews 10:37-39.

Romans 13:11 says "This also, knowing the time, that it is already time that we should be aroused out of sleep; for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.

So clearly there is a salvation that is yet to be and it's a salvation that will be revealed at the last time, at the last trump, at the appearing of Jesus Christ.

Scripture in Hebrews 1:14 speaks of us as those who are about to inherit salvation, then it went on in chapter 2:3 to describe the salvation which we are about to inherit as "so great salvation" & then in chapter 2:10 reveals the Lord Jesus as the captain of our salvation, the one leading in the battle/conflict of faith which will ultimately lead to the bringing of many sons to glory; many sons conformed to the image of the firstborn and brought home to the Father's house as the church of the firstborn written/registered in heaven.

Without the manifestation of the salvation ready to be revealed in the last time, there can be no bringing of many sons to glory, no literal ushering of us into the inheritance reserved for us in heaven. It is the salvation ready to be revealed in the last time, even the Lord Jesus himself who is also the captain of our salvation, that will bring us into the Father's house, into the inheritance reserved for us in heaven.

In Luke 2:25-30 when Simeon took up the child Jesus he blessed God and said my eyes have seen thy salvation; this he said referring to the child, he is the Lord's salvation.

Now in verse 9 of 1st Peter 1 as earlier cited, Peter by the inspiration of the HolySpirit speaks of this salvation ready to be revealed in the last time as the salvation of our soul which is the end/consummation of our faith.

In Hebrews 10:37-39 we see the connection between the coming one and the salvation of our soul.

"For, yet a little while, how short! how short! The Coming One will be here, and will not tarry; But the just shall live by faith and, if he draw back, my soul does not take pleasure in him. But *we* are not drawers back to perdition, but of faith unto saving the soul."

A certain translation reads "unto acquisition or possession of the soul".
This reminds me of Luke 21:19 where Jesus said "In your patience possess ye your souls."

The opposite of the possession of the soul is to lose one's soul, thus Jesus says what shall it profit a man if he gains the world and loses his own soul & then in one of his parables, it was said of the rich fool: "Fool, this night thy soul shall be required(demanded back) of thee; and whose shall be what thou hast prepared? - Matthew 16:26 & Luke 12:20.

The faith that perseveres is unto the salvation/possession of the soul.
The faith of the true believer is not that which professes once saved forever saved as there is no such thing in scripture, but that which perseveres unto the salvation/saving of the soul.

The word translated as "Saving" in the common English version of Hebrews 10:39 is "peripoiēsis" and it means preserving, a preservation, possession, one's own property, an obtaining. It is the same word translated as "the purchased possession" in Ephesians 1:14 where scripture speaks of the earnest of our inheritance & the redemption of the purchased or acquired possession to the praise of his glory.

The Redemption & Posession Of The Heavenly Inheritance At His Appearing.

The redemption of the purchased or acquired possession is at his appearing. It's at his appearing that we will be literally ushered into the inheritance reserved for us in heaven.

Now remember, scripture says we are born/begotten again unto an inheritance incorruptible & undefiled, reserved for us in heaven(1st Peter 1:3-4).
This heavenly inheritance is our birthright.

Now also remember Esau; scripture judges Esau as profane for had no respect for his birthright/inheritance. Esau was the firstborn so his birthright is the birthright of the firstborn.

Hebrews 12:14-17
Pursue peace with all, and holiness, without which no one shall see the Lord: watching lest there be any one who falls short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you , and many be defiled by it; lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one meal sold his birthright; for ye know that also afterwards, desiring to inherit the blessing, he was rejected, (for he found no place for repentance) although he sought it earnestly with tears.

It is not in vain that the HolySpirit lifts this history of Esau in warning the church.

The church of Christ in this same chapter of Hebrews 12(vs.23) is presented as the church of the firstborn and in the very first chapter of Hebrews 1 we see Christ in his humanity appointed heir of all things(vs.3), made so much better than the angels(vs.4), obtained a more excellent name than the angels by reason of his inheritance(vs.4), his church as an elect & greatly honoured company who are about to inherit salvation(vs.14), the salvation they are about to inherit as so great and vast in range touching the administration of the eternal ages to come(2 vs.5), Christ himself as the captain of their salvation to literally bring them into the inheritance thereof..ie. the bringing of many sons to glory(2 vs.10).

These are vast ranges of scriptural truths/verities crowded & compressed into one sentence.

The inheritance and birthright to which the church is called in Christ is a heavenly inheritance and birthright, which is all encompassing, being the inheritance of all things both in heaven and earth. Chapter 3:1 of the same book of Hebrews says that we are partakers of the heavenly calling.

Now back to the history of what happened to Esau, which the HolySpirit lifted in speaking to the church, warning against slackness, laxity and profanity.
There in Hebrews 12 where this history is presented to us, we should carefully take note of the fact that Esau was the firstborn and the church whom the HolySpirit is warning in this scripture is also revealed as the church of the firstborn written/registered in heaven.
What Esau despised for profanity is an earthly birthright/inheritance but what is in view for the church which anyone must not despise and thus fall short of, is a heavenly birthright/inheritance.

The scripture says Esau, for one meal sold his birthright; and that we should remember that afterwards, when he desired to inherit the blessing, he was rejected.

*Mark "afterwards, when he resolved or determined to inherit"....It is "metepeita thelō ethelō klēronomeō" in the original greek.

Interestingly, the word "metepeita"(afterwards) is closely related to the word "metatithēmi" which speaks of an activity of transfer, translation/transportation.
Metatithēmi is the very word rendered as "translated" in Hebrews 11:5 which says "By faith Enoch was TRANSLATED that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had TRANSLATED him.

In the Greek dictionary/numbering of greek words, metepeita(G3347) comes after metatithēmi(G3346). Metepeita(Afterwards) used of Esau, comes after Metatithēmi(Translation) used of Enoch.

Even in the order of bible chronology and in the order of the book of Hebrews, the history of Esau missing out on his birthright/inheritance comes after that of Enoch's translation.
It is of no little significance, that we see Enoch's translation history in Hebrews 11, then afterwards we see Esau's history of rejection from possessing the inheritance in Hebrews 12.

1st Corinthians 15:49-55 clearly speaks of a transition/translation which the church must experience to be literally ushered into the heavenly inheritance. For the church to literally inherit/posess the heavenly kingdom there must be that transition/translation for the heavenly kingdom is not such that can be inherited/possessed with a flesh and blood/earthly body; there must be a transition from bearing the image of the earthly to taking up the image of the heavenly man.
👇🏼

"And as we have borne the image of the one made of dust, we shall bear also the image of the heavenly one . But this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit God's kingdom, nor does corruption inherit incorruptibility.  Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all fall asleep, but we shall all be changed, in an instant, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and *we* shall be changed. For this corruptible must needs put on incorruptibility, and this mortal put on immortality. But when this corruptible shall have put on incorruptibility, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall come to pass the word written: Death has been swallowed up in victory. Where, O death, is thy sting? where, O death, thy victory?"

In this sense, Enoch is a type of the church that will walk with God and be no more, being translated and caught up to God.

Sadly there is an Esau generation in the church today, people who are profane, who are earthly minded and despise the heavenly inheritance, being resolved upon the earth and have sold their heavenly/eternal birthright for momentary pleasures and riches upon the earth. Upon these, the prophetic history of what happened to Esau will come as the 'afterwards' of Esau will become their lot; after the church saints like Enoch are translated and taken up into the heavenly inheritance, they will wake up like the foolish virgins and be

resolved/determined like Esau to inherit/have/take possession of the inheritance, but then it will be too late.

For Esau, it was too late as scripture says he found no place of a return to the inheritance though he sought for it earnestly with tears, for the time to inherit the birthright had gone and the inheritance had been taken away/ delivered to another, so will it be with the Esau generation.

Every drawing back from the faith and hope of the coming one is a falling away/apostasy unto perdition, but we are not of them who draw back unto perdition but of them who believe unto the saving of the soul.
