Is He Really The Reason For The Season?

Is He Really The Reason For The Season?

If there should be a crime-free, evil-free, death-free, tragedy-free, sorrow-free day, it should be Christmas day, sadly there is no such day upon the earth, not even a single second free of evil in this dark/ sin-laden world.

Many say Christ is the reason for the season, but let's pause and ask ourselves is he really the reason for the season?

A season fraught with increase in evil & all sorts of moral vices, as men are most desperate to make gains & lay hands on enough cash to spend on excesses of revelling in debauchery.

Could such be worthy of the Holy One as to say He's the reason for the season?

Will you cheat, falsify figures, sell goods/services at exorbitant prices/costs, kill, maim, engage in wild parties, orgies & lewd dancing etc. to celebrate Christ?

Is Christ the reason you did all that?

Can you stand before God and say you did all of that because Christ is the reason for the season?

It's an entirely hopeless situation and religion/religious festivities from year to year, holds no solution but provides a perfect breeding ground for agelong self deception.

You can keep feeling good and pious every religious festive season, while you remain dead in your sins and heading for eternal doom, with no one telling you the life saving truth you need to hear and be saved, before it becomes late.

The significance of the birth of Christ, the purpose for which he was born into this sinful/hopeless world, is all gathered up in the meaning of his name(Jesus).

Matthew 1:21

"And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.

His name thus speaks of his purpose and mission in this world & it is to save men from their sins.

In Luke 5:32 Jesus himself says "I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance."

1st Timothy 1:15 says "This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief."

1st John 3:5 says "And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin."

This mission/business of saving from sin must be a very serious one in the heart of God, seeing that it's the purpose for which he sent his only begotten Son into the world.

This is the reason for the birth of Christ.

This is the only hope in a hopeless and fleeting world, where the touch of death, decay and corruption is upon everything, in a world where nothing abides.

Believe in the name of the Son of God.

Believe that he is able to save to the uttermost all that come unto God by Him.

He's beyond the season and seasons, let Him be the reason for your living & existence here in time and for all eternity.
