The Blessedness Of The Meek & Weak.

The Blessedness Of The Meek & Weak.

Meekness is unobtrusive, self-effacing & not self-assertive. It is a virtue that is often taken as weakness but it is not weakness in the sense of absence of power/want of strength but strength/power under restraint; strength/power put under/under control.

This makes a meek man who may seem/appear weak, even stronger than he who goes about expressing power and showing strength without restraint/control.

In the scriptures of truth we learn that true power with God is known in the place of meekness & weakness.

The power and strength of God is revealed in it's perfection, where the human vessel is weak, under & utterly abandoned to the grace and might of God - 2nd Corinthians 12:9-10.

In Revelation 3:8 we see how saints in Philadelphia, who are of small strength(weak in the authority/power of their own will), kept the word of the Lord's patience & did not deny his name. Of course in being weak in themselves, they absolutely depend and rely on the Lord and his word, thus they patiently wait on his promises.

Before the cross, we see in Peter an example of a disciple who was so zealous and so strong in himself(so made up in his own will/resolve to follow the Lord all the way) yet he failed woefully; openly denying the Lord and his name.

He in the strength/power of his own will resolved to go the way of the cross of Christ, but the cross of Christ is not by the will of man neither can any go the way of it by sheer will/determination.

The cross is the circumcision made without hands, in other words it is not ochestrated by the hands of men, but the predeterminate counsel and will of God, thus God leads us to it & by it's way.

We can't lead ourselves into the way of the cross by sheer will/determination to crucify Self....that will only be the subtle deception of Self trying to crucify Self on a cross born of Self will, determination & resolve.

The circumcision made without hands (the cross) is an offence to those who are strong and full of their own will, way & ambition.
