The Testimony Of Jesus (Part 2).

Relevance Of All Scriptures.

2 Timothy 3:15-17 "And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works."

The relevance of all scripture as given by the inspiration of God, is in it's testimony of Jesus, as that which is able to make one wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.  All scripture is thus given by inspiration of God, and bears the testimony of Christ, to inspire the faith of Christ in the hearts of men and thus lead them to Christ.

What about the historic and poetic books of scripture, like the chronicles and the psalms?
Do they also testify of Christ?

Luke 24:27 shows us Christ expounding unto the disciples he met enroute Emmaus, the things concerning himself in all the scriptures.
He began at Moses and all the prophets, but touched the entirety of the testimony of him, in all the scriptures.
Vs 44 shows us the detail of the broader scope of the testimony of Jesus in all the scriptures. In verse 44, a mention is made not just of the writings of the law and the prophets, but also of the psalms.

44  "And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me."

In conclusion, all scripture as inspired of God bears the testimony of Jesus, whether in the history, types, shadows and poetic/dark speeches of the old or in the express account of the gospels, or in the revelations contained in the epistles of the new testament. They all speak/testify of him.

The Testimony Of Jesus As the Seal Of God.

The seal of the testimony of Jesus/the seal of all scripture given by the inspiration of God, cannot be broken. It's authority as being infallible, and a sure testimony which will stand the test of all times, and that by which all things will stand to be judged, is absolute.
Jesus himself who was the very word made flesh, acknowledged the seal/authority of scriptures as that which cannot be broken.

John 10:34-35 "Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods? If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken.."

The Ministry Of The HolySpirit In Bearing The Testimony Of Jesus.

Following the death, resurrection and ascension of the Lord Jesus into heaven, the HolySpirit was sent forth chiefly to bear witness of him as risen, ascended and exalted by the right hand of God.
It is the testimony of his eternal victory and ascendancy over death, over the power of the grave, over all principalities, powers, thrones and names named not only in this world but also in that which is to come. He has ascended far above all that is contrary and opposed to God's interests and purposes, as bound up with the earth; far above every intransigence and rebellion that came into creation, beginning with Lucifer's ancient ambition to become equal with God.
Following that ascension, the HolyGhost was sent down from heaven, to bear witness/give voice to that testimony of his eternal victory.

John 15:26-27 "But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me: And ye also shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning."

The constitution of the disciples who were with Jesus, as his witnesses, was only effected by the descent of the HolyGhost. It is only by the advent of the Spirit, who came down to bear witness of the glorified Christ, that the disciples were endued with power to bear witness/give voice to the testimony of Christ. They were thus brought into partnership with the ministry of the Holy Spirit. The witness they bore were not merely eye witness stories/written accounts of men, who had physically been with Jesus, but that which they were empowered and inspired by the HolySpirit, to bear(speak/write) of the glorified Christ. This was absolutely nothing but the fulfilment of that which Jesus said to his disciples before his departure.

John 14:26 "But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you."

John 16:12-15 "I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you. All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.
