The Blessedness Of Waiting And The Peril Of The Zeal To Manifest.

The disciples had been with Jesus for about three and a half years of his ministry walk; they were taught and discipled by him. They saw him heal the sick, raise the dead, and perform great wonders and miracles. They also saw and knew the frailty of his humanity, in times of hunger, in need, in lethargy needing rest, and even sleeping off while they were awake.
Being glorified, through his death and resurrection, they saw and fellowshipped with him as risen and glorified; he showed himself alive to them by many infallible proofs, and was seen of them for forty days, during which he spoke and taught them things pertaining to the kingdom of God.
Despite the wealth of knowledge and firsthand experience/encounter the disciples had with Christ, they were instructed of him not to go forth witnessing and manifesting after his ascension, but to wait for the advent of the HolySpirit to endue them with power from on high, and constitute them as witnesses.
Nothing of heavenly account and recognition, will happen in the work of witnessing the risen Christ, outside the disciples' obedience to wait for the Spirit to come and take over. Outside the obedience of waiting for the Spirit to take over, whatever they rise to do in witnessing Christ, as men who had been and ate with him, will mean nothing to heaven but rebellion even in the seeming/so called work of God, which is only but the work of men for 'God'.

Those who are so zealous about ministry and manifesting, spontaneously go out to work without waiting on the Lord and letting His Spirit lead the way; and how so easily, and naturally yet tragically, they end up glorifying themselves and their ministries. Thus glorifying themselves, they become false ministers, preaching themselves and giving out the impression, like Simon the sorcerer, that they are the great power of God(powerful men of God). Acts 8:9-11.
This is the sad making of false ministers. They are led by self; driven by their own impulse, inspiration, motivation, zeal and energy; having not waited and allowed the Spirit to take over, they are in charge and in control of what they yet call 'the work of God'. If they had waited to allow the Spirit, who does not speak of himself but glorifies Christ, to take over and drive them, they surely would have been spared from the wretched, natural tendency of all flesh, to seek the glory of self.

They are false, and scripture exposes them as such, thus we do not fear to say that they are what scripture exposes them to be. Indeed he that speaks of himself, seeks his own glory and he that seeks his own glory is not true, but he that seeks the glory of him that sent him is true. John 7:3-6, 18; 8:50; 16:13-14;
2 Corinthians 4:5;

John 7:3-6 "His brethren therefore said unto him, Depart hence, and go into Judaea, that thy disciples also may see the works that thou doest. For there is no man that doeth any thing in secret, and he himself seeketh to be known openly. If thou do these things, shew thyself to the world. For neither did his brethren believe in him. Then Jesus said unto them, My time is not yet come: but your time is alway ready."

John 7:18  "He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him."

John 8:50 "And I seek not mine own glory: there is one that seeketh and judgeth."

John 16:13-14  "Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you."

2 Corinthians 4:5  "For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake."
