Contentment...A Great Virtue.

We're sadly in a day in Christendon when contentment is seen as complacency & many preach against being satisfied with one's level/status in life; much of the emphasis is on gain, material prosperity, increase, breakthrough, moving forward, next level, enlargement, advancement, spreading, growth etc.
Sadly, more than 90% of the gospel preached today centers on these things, thus material prosperity & advancement/gain in this life has become synonymous with godliness in the 21st century church. If after some years of being born again you're still poor then something must be wrong with your faith.
The poor saints are treated with ignominy, considered to be under a curse, ignorant of God's word & urged to give/sow their way out of the curse of poverty instead of having their needs ministered to, while the rich are seen as pillars in the church & often ordained as deacons, not to minister to the needs of saints but to bear the financial burden of mundane 'church' projects & excesses of the pastor like acquiring the latest car model. This is clearly the mark of those the bible says we should withdraw from. Preachers & teachers who are destitute & bereft of the truth, who rather than teach contentment suppose that gain is godliness, teaching otherwise and deliberately refusing to consent to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness.
