Which Altar Is Speaking For You?

Which Altar Is Speaking For You?

The altar which speaks for the believer in Christ is the blood of sprinkling which speaks better things than that of Abel; it is nothing but the cross of Christ where we have been redeemed from every curse.

The mark of the altar in the old testament is that made by hands, built by man. If you go through the word altar in the old testament you would see pious men of old raising/building an altar unto Jehovah, from Noah to Abraham to Isaac & to Jacob etc. it is man building an altar to God. One of the marks of the veil over the old testament.

In the light of the new testament however, it is not so. There is no such record or testimony of a man building an altar to God.
No disciple, believer or pious man in the new testament was ever instructed or inspired by the Spirit of God to raise or build an altar unto God.

This is very clear in scripture and very instructive for the altar of the new testament is not that which is made by hands or built by men.

The one and only altar we have in the new testament is of the circumcision not made with hands, which is the cross of Christ. It is an altar that has opened the way into the holiest of all(the heavenly sanctuary) where Christ who is both our sacrifice and Highpriest has gone in for us, giving us unfettered and unrestricted access into the very presence & shekinah glory of God.

Altar Vs Altar

This is a popular theme on program flyers and on the lips of most preachers in present day christendom.
A theme probably drawn from the biblical story of Elijah's encounter with the prophets of Baal, in which he raised an altar to God as set up/pitched against the altar which the prophets of Baal raised unto Baal.

The altar of christianity however, is not that which can be raised/built by man upon the earth as set up/pitched against contary altars upon the earth.
It is an altar that is far above all principalities, powers, thrones and dominions and as such cannot be pitched against them as though in contest with them.

It is an altar that has overcome, prevailed & avails for us in the heavenly sanctuary, far above & infinitely beyond altars of darkness/shrines made with hands upon the earth. It thus cannot be pitched against such altars as portrayed by the so called theme: "Altar Vs Altar".
When men say Altar Vs Altar it is actually the altar they have made with their hands, which have nothing to do with christianity, that they are pitching against contrary altars.

Where in christian profession, the appeal & gravitation is to a physical sanctuary, place of worship & altar made with hands, something else is the obsession & pursuit, for the true christian faith is obsession with nothing else but the risen Christ who has gone into the heavenly sanctuary not made with hands, where as our Highpriest and intercessor he is continually in the face of God for us.

His blood that was shed (ie. his death) and resurrection for us gives us unfettered access into the place where, he in the full value & virtue of them, has gone in for us. Hebrews 10:20.

This is the obsession and occupation of true faith in Christ and nothing else, as saith scripture: "of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens; A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man.
Hebrews 8:1-2.

Scripture further states in Hebrews 9:24 that Christ has not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are figures of the true; but into heaven itself, where he appears in the face of God for us.

The true tabernacle, sanctuary, place of worship and altar is not that which is made/built with hands upon the earth, for that is not & cannot be where Christ our Highpriest has gone in for us, thus where the appeal is to sanctuaries and altars made with hands where men physically or virtually gather to worship and pray, there also you have a false profession of christian faith & a distraction from the true, for the hope & appeal of true christian faith is to the Great Highpriest who as a forerunner, has gone into the heavenly sanctuary for us.

The invitation of scripture is thus not to come to or connect to a physical/virtual sanctuary/altar on earth; but to come to the throne of Grace boldly, where Christ our Highpriest sits, as saith scripture: "For every priest stands daily ministering, and offering often the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins; But He, having offered one sacrifice for sins, sat down in perpetuity at the right hand of God". Hebrews 10:11-12.

We are thus to come boldly to the throne of Grace where Christ our Highpriest and intercessor sits as fully & abidingly representing us in the face of God, we are to come to obtain the mercy which is already ours in him who is our mercy seat(Romans 3:25) & find grace in him who is the fullness of the grace of God for us; grace for a well-timed help.

This is the invitation of the true christian faith for the obsession of the believer in Christ should be with nothing else but Christ and where he, as our Highpriest, has gone in for us.

Scripture says he is the Highpriest of our confession & profession. "Archiereus he‌mo‌n homologia" in the greek, meaning "The Highpriest we profess to be ours" Hebrews 3:1.

In other words, we do not merely acknowledge and confess him as our Highpriest but we also relate with him practically as such.

Our confession & profession is our devotion & obsession.

The marvel and wonder is how people with an open bible and with these age long truths in them, can do ministry for years, preaching & touring the world for crusades and teaching meetings yet their obsession and appeal is to something else.

So much idolatry(distraction from the Christ) going on yet in the name of Christ & christian ministry/service.
How so subtle! The enemy even that ancient serpent has done this!

The appeal of so called christianity today is to the physical and virtual than the spiritual.

The priestly ministry of Christ is not without where he has gone in for us(the heavenly sanctuary) where he sits at the righthand of God, thus where the heavenly sanctuary is not in view and people's attention is being drawn to earthly sanctuaries and altars made with hands, it's an aberration & open rebellion against the heavenly priesthood and calling.

Christ is minister of the true tabernacle(the heavenly) & not the earthy made with hands. His priesthood is heavenly and not earthly(Hebrews 8:4).

In other words, he has no place in the earthly priesthood with it's earthly sanctuary and altar made with hands.
He is not a minister of the earthly tabernacle, sanctuary and altar. Whosoever therefore that comes as a minister of Christ and in the name of Christ but ministers an earthly sanctuary and altar to you as a place of focus, worship and prayer, is doing ministry on a false ground for one cannot be a true minister of Christ and yet be a minister of an earthly sanctuary and altar made with hands.

Sadly in much of what is called christianity and church today, the appeal & invitation is to a physical building/place of worship and altar made with hands.

May God deliver his people from idols and every subtle distraction from Christ.

The Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life. Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen.

1st John 5:20-21.
