On The Imminence Of The Lord's Coming.
The church in touch with the Holy Spirit lives in the consciousness of the imminence of the Lord's coming, as seeing the day approaching.
According to Hebrews 10:24-25, provoking ourselves unto love and good works and assembling together often to exhort and encourage one another is to be done in the anticipation & hope of his coming for us. Where this is not in view and we merely assemble together without seeing the day approaching and hasting unto his coming, our gathering and love feasts is nothing but a social meeting/gathering.Beyond every doubt and confusion of men who are insincere with scripture, the bride that loves her bridegroom undyingly and passionately, desires and craves his coming as soon as possible.
Hope deferred makes the longing heart sick.
As revealed by the Lord in Matthew 24, the servant who defers his Lord's coming in his heart, whether for fear or his imminent return or indifference to it, is an evil servant; and the disposition of his heart affects his speech(doctrine) and conduct.
Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks and out of the heart are the issues of life.
What is in the heart manifests/shows up not only in speech but also in life/conduct.
Don't be surprised when you see a preacher who deliberately seeks to defer the Lord's coming in doctrine, it starts from the heart.
To such, scripture says the master will come at a time he least expects & cut him off; appointing/giving him over to the same fate of the unbelieving..."where there shall be weeping & gnashing of teeth" - Matthew 24:48-51.
In the apostolic epistle to the church in Corinth, we find also the solemn pronunciation of judgment from the Lord upon every one who loves not the Lord and his coming. That is the force of "Anathema Maranatha" - 1st Corinthians 16:22.
The same apostle in the final notes of his second epistle to Timothy says "Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing." 2nd Timothy 4:8.
Undying love for his appearing can never be over emphasized as that should be a constant for true believers in every generation, such that those who sleep in the Lord, die in the fervent faith & hope of his glorious appearing.
The Bride that passionately loves her Lord, will walk so closely with His Spirit till her voice becomes one with that of the Spirit saying Come Lord Jesus!
A testimony of not just her eagerness to meet her Lord, but also her readiness as without spot, wrinkle, blemish or any such thing, knowing fully well that her hour has come to be caught away and be with her Lord.
We long & look forward to the day when the eyes from which nothing can be hid will look at his bride & say: "Thou art all fair, my love; there is no spot in thee."
A glorious church without spot or wrinkle - Songs 4:7 & Ephesians 5:27.
The Spirit & the bride says come...even so come Lord Jesus!
Revelation 22:17 & 20.
