The Peril Of Observing Lying Vanities And The Failure To Discern Times Of Visitation.
So often we go about observing the vanities that lie all around us in this fleeting world, and not just observing them but also vehemently pursuing after, to lay hold on uncertain/vain riches and treasures. So often we're caught up in this vain and futile pursuit, like we have no stake or place in the heavenly/eternal; we neglect/forsake our own mercy and the eternal riches wherewith God has blessed us in the heavenly places in Christ, and we go about as though we're destitutes and vagabonds like Cain, seeking a permanent site, a continuing city/lasting investment/treasures in a world, where nothing lasts, where nothing is certain/permanent. The danger of observing lying vanities lies in it's ability to cripple the sensitivity of even the most pious of saints, making us spiritually undiscerning, insensitive, numb and blind to spiritual realities and verities.
